Carrion's Remembrance
History
Acid Scar - The Last Blessed Weapon of Ixmoria
Once know as Acid Scar, one of 10 weapons forged by the Dwarves in the defence of their cities against Dragonkind, Carrion's Remembrance was renamed after being stolen away on the eve it was meant to be destroyed. In the years following the Draconic Resurgence, the Queendom of Polantia, along with the city state of Oasis and the Venkan Empires, all emissary's or communities run or home to many Dragons, called for the Blessed Weapons of Ixmoria to be melted down, destroyed so they could never be used against Dragonkind again. When all 10 weapons were brought to Worzavur Volcano to be melted down, an unknown person created a duplicate of Acid Scar, switching the fake with the original with no one the wiser. It was then believed by all of Oxdara that all the weapons were destroyed, and over time the knowledge of how to forge and imbue weapons with the power of a Blessed Weapon would be forgotten. It was only in the year 281 DR was Acid Scar seen again. Some how the leader of the Cult of Salvation, Carrion, had located the blade, and claimed it for themselves, renaming the weapon Carrion's Remembrance. The weapon has not been seen by beings outside of the cult, and even those in the cult are unawares as to the weapons origins, with only the Dwarven members having any clue as to what the blade could be, though they only think it is a replica, believing the original destroy nearly 3 centuries prior.Carrion's Remembrance
Under the name Carrion's Remembrance, the weapon has continued it's history of the death of Dragons, with each Dragon felled by the blade, it's power and strength growing. Wielded by Carrion the blade has killed atleast 10 Dragon's across Oxdara, from Wyrmlings to Young Adult Dragons, not yet has Carrion, or another carrying the Blade, killed a Dragon older than 200 years. In the hands of Carrion, Carrion's Remembrance has become the embodiment of their ideals, the eradication of Dragonkind. Every time the blade fells a Dragon it is immersed in the blood of said Dragon, imbuing it with more and more Draconic power. This was not a trait seen on any other Blessed weapon, and is a ritual developed by Carrion, taking the Life Force of the Dragon, using the practice of Hemomancy to strengthen the artefact. Through this practise Carrion's Remembrance has developed such power that it would have, at one point in history, been deemed too powerful for man, and locked away in the Vaults of Aetherland. But, for better or worse, those Vaults now lie in ruin, the artefacts within lost in pocket dimensions, unobtainable by even the Gods, and the ability to lock away a weapon of this power lost with them.
