Divine Origins
In the Dritha Empire, there is a story as to how the Pantheon was formed, and why these Gods. Sune, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, was watching Oxdara, especially Venka, from her Celestial plane. She watched as the three Empires were formed, and saw the people of Dritha struggle without Devine leadership. She sent a champion to the leaders, telling them that she would aid the people in surviving, thriving and that she would watch over them always. The Dragonborn of Dritha were slow to accept her aid. But over time, they started to see Sune in everything they did, her hand guided them to the place where they would establish their Capital city, Talonfeld. Unbeknown to Sune and the Dragonborn, other Gods were watching them, biding time and waiting to see if these people would be worthy of their assistance.
Mystra, Goddess of Magic, and friend of Sune, was the first to come to the Goddess with an idea. These people could be the perfect way to embody themselves on Oxdara. Some Gods, like those of the Standing Stone in Rularia, were content to watch from a distance, not want their influence evident to the ordinary mortal. Or those of the Ivory Order, who wished to rule the mortals, wield them like an army. But there were other Gods, who wished for something in between, spreading their message and tenants to Oxdara, but not rule the mortals, some even wished to live among them.
Sune and Mystra gathered other Gods, Mask, Loviatar, Mishakal, Kord, and Habbakuk, and the Seven of them appeared before the Dritha people, telling them of their plan. What they foresaw for the people. And most importantly, the tenants by which they should live by.
Tenets of Faith
The Tenents by which the followers of the Catona Pantheon live were delivered by the Gods themselves when appearing to the people. Each God decreed one tenet each.
- Tenet of Habbakuk. All life is sacred, every death of any creature must be honoured and respected. Hunting and fishing should not happen for sport, only for survival.
- Tenet of Kord. Always be courageous in the face of Evil. Do not shy away from strength.
- Tenet of Loviatar. Death is a part of life. Pain is a lesson. Know that every hurt will heal, but only with the help of others.
- Tenet of Mishakal. Help others through their pain. Help them on their path to healing, do not be cruel and dismiss their sufferings.
- Tenet of Mask. Punishments should fit the crime. A man stealing bread to feed his children should not be the one punished, the people who denied them food in the first place should.
- Tenet of Mystra. Respect the magic of Oxdara, in all its forms. From the Arcane to the Celestial, to the Fey, all magic is valid and should be used for good.
- Tenet of Sune. Love each other and find the good in people. Do not hate them based on who they are, or who they love.
