The Citadel

The Capital city of the kingdom of Dragontide, the centre for humans in Rularia, where the monarch of Dragontide resides.   Seated on the shore of the Dragon Eye Lake, the Citadels high walls and Gothic/Renaissance architecture make it a stand against the flat fields and low hills around the lakes, as a stone mass of high spires. On a still day the cities reflection in the nearby water, akin to a reflection in a mirror.   The Citadel houses one of only 3 Universities in Rularia. The Oakleaf University brings in people from all across the world, due to its specialism as an elite magic school, training students in all forms of the arcane, or honing their natural abilities.

Guilds and Factions

Bounty Hunters Guild

The Bounty Hunter's Guild, a recognised organisation across Rularia, and has expanded into Erendoc, and beginning to expand into Venka. The original guild was established in Horan's Rise during Rularia's 4th era, and grew as Rularia became a united front.   The Citadel branch is in the district of Golden Stars, right in the heart of the city. It is a tall building, four stories, with a high pointed roof and gothic architecture like the rest of the city. The top floor has a large circular glass window that overlooks the city.   The guild master is an old Half-Orc/Half-Elven gentleman, pale green skin, with short tusks and pointed ears almost as long as an Elf. He has dark black hair, slicked back with spots of silver, and a scraggy beard thats more grey than black.

Blood Hunters Respite

Situated in the district of Eldath's Hold, the Hunters Respite is accessed through the basement of a large building close to the wall between Eldath's Hold and Borrin Yard. The guild master is a young Human woman, around her late 20's, wild and curly bright orange hair, and when she smiles her canines are just slightly longer than a normal Human. Around her neck she wears a pendant, a half moon with the other half being a depiction of a tiger. Her eyes are a pale green, with single slit verticle pupils. Every now and then, when her hair shifts, the sight of two cat ears can be seen instead of Human ears.

History

The Citadel is the oldest city in Rularia, dating back to pre-recorded history in Rularia. Originally known as Pafth, the city was inhabbited by the group of Hillara known as the Vanir, and is the only city in Dragontide that can date itself back that far, though most of the Hillara and ancient Rularian history has been recorded long after the fact, or passed down as oral history.   After the Ascension of the Rularian Gods, the Citadel became a beacon for the human's left on the plane, it's wall's were fortified and became the bastion and seat of power for the new Dragontide county.

Points of interest

The Oakleaf University

Dragontide's insutiute of higher learning, the Oakleaf university is the oldest in Rularia, being a premier school for all manner of mages since early in Rularia's second era.

Lady Tialia Proudmire Memorial Park

In the wake of the war against the Dark Wing Empire, the region outside the cities main gate was covered in tents, the ground stained with war. The new King chose to leave the area where the united forces of Rularia made their stand as a memorial park. He dedicated the parks name to his late sister, Tialia, who died in the early days of Rosalinds take over. Throughout the park are small statues and memorial ponds, to the heroes who died in the defence of their country.   He chose to dedicate the park in its entierty to his sister because of her love of nature, and the forests around their home of Tronbridge, and most noteably her love of the poppies that would bloom around their home. After seeing the poppies blooming in the new park, the idea was simple.

Skyship Docks

The skyship docks, the largest of its kind in all of Rularia, are a major reason why the Citadel and Dragontide thrived in recent history. Their acceptance of Erendocian technology and the allowance for Gatoro Enterprises to establish and build Skyships for Rularian use created a boom of trade for the city and nation.

Asgardia

Established after the war against the Dark Wing Empire, by Queen Freya Proudmire. The new Queen, hailing from Venka, marrying the newly appointed King August Proudmire, sort to restablish her Gods and the Gods of her people back in Dragontide, building Asgardia outside the city walls. A collection of temples and halls dedicated to the Rularia's Ascended Gods. There are temples to Odin, Tyr, Freyja, Oghma, Silvanus, Sif, Lugh, Brigantia and Morrigan. As the city began to expand outside the walls, the region around Asgardia was left alone, the only buildings dorms and homes for the clerics and priests of the temples.
