Cult of Blood And Bone
The cult was established shortly after Kazir and his friends went on a business trip. Kazir bought magic items for his starting store. They came from ruins in long lost caverns. They were recently unsealed by natural processes. The artifacts must have been sitting there buried for ages.
As it turned out among the loot was a book dedicated to the Lord of Skulls. Khorne himself. The book was written in a language that was not comprehensive to Kazir at first. But after spending a while with it, he attempted to study it. The book spoke to him. It was Khorne who gave him the knowledge to channel blood. Kazir was at first frightened but eventually gave in. He began to study the art of Haemocraft, long lost magic given to people by Khorne to unleash even more powerful magic on this world with the use of their life essence. Blood, Khorne's domain. In order to learn his arts he studied them for years. Slowly converting the rich merchants into believers of Khorne.
Lucius Sangre joined the cult when his wife died after the birth of his son. He became dedicated to his cause and soon grew to the rank of right hand of Kazir. Lucius sought more power and with the hope of being able to resurrect his wife one day. Kazir kept her intact in the crypt while casting gentle repose.
Kazir found out how to prolong his life through the teachings of Khorne. Yet he learned a bloody ritual. A life for a life. By taking the beings life. He would live longer for the remaining years of being sacrificed.
Kazir, as a priest of Khorne, was slaughtering animals regularly. One of the members was a farmer, he grew inpatient with Kazir requesting more and more animals for slaughter. But Kazir repaired him well in gold and power. But the more his connection to the blood god grew stronger the more cruel Kazir became. After he slaughtered lambs for his ritual he began to build altars from the skulls in Khorne's name.
The demands of Khorne for blood became more and more vicious. Kazir was bloodthirsty not just as a priest but as a merchant even so. Would go through anything to prove his truth.
