The waxy substance that the
Candleman's Goons seems to be created using necromantic alchemy, perhaps harvested from
ghouls.
On
Takesday, Thiefmoon, 1312,
Lindie Asklepa collected a sample of wax from the
bell tower where a
Candleman Goon sniper took down an
Honourable Company shipment bound for
Morpheus's Pleasuredome.
The
Undergazette casenotes on the
Candleman and his
Cartel include a detailed alchemical analysis of the wax. While it is mostly made from animal fats with tallows and binding solvent, the wax is treated with animation alchemy similar to that the sort the
Nobility uses to animate golems, but substituting some of the animation alchemy with Necromancy.
Lindie's analysis of the sample she collected revealed that the animal fat had been taken from undead animals, which combined with her previous discovery that the Candleman Goons had collected the bodies of the
intruder ghouls who had somehow bypassed the
City Wall, suggests that the Candleman is perhaps harvesting
ghouls for the creation of the wax.
