Okra is eaten in the higher and lower levels of Palimpsest. Poorer commoners who can afford to, buy a single stalk at the market and put the full plant to use. The membrane can be used to help purify drinking water, the stem fibre and oils are flammable and can be used for fuel. The main pods are eaten, either as a side (by the wealthy), or as a key nutrient in gumbo for the poorer commoners.
