Pandora
1378 DR, The Year of the Cauldron
DnD – Living World uses the
Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (FRCS) from Dungeons & Dragons 3rd edition (3.0) and the
Player’s Guide to Faerun (PGF) from the updated 3.5 edition (3.5) as guide for its patron deities, races, and cultures. However, many of these may look different in the world due to the unique circumstances of adapting Pathfinder rules, playing in a living world, and the specific circumstances and history of the plane in which we’re playing.
The Plane of
Pandora is an emerging guns land-based colonial adventure set in the Forgotten Realms. The campaign setting began in 2018, or 1372 DR, and advances in approximate real-time. The actual geography of
Pandora is that of a recently-discovered plane, the
portal of which is located in
Baldur's Gate. The
Pandoran Portal was created due to the machinations of an unknown wizard (the common rumor is that he was toying with a portable hole and a bag of holding, though no one knows for sure). Although there are other ways into the plane (
plane shift, undiscovered
portals), the Pandoran Portal is currently one-way, and big enough only to support travel of medium-sized creatures. The
portal deposits travelers in one of three sites, chosen mentally as the traveler wishes. Understandably, three settlements have arisen around each site, in an area collectively known as
the Havens, though there are many unknown regions to discover.
