Geography
Imagine being under the ocean but there is no water. Sea creatures fly and don't dehydrate from the lack of water or the intense heat of the desert sun.
Most of the area is covered in quicksand bleeding in from the sand sea North West of the Skysea making travel through this area very dangerous.
This gives the feeling of traveling through the ocean upside down as you sail the quicksand below and see the sea life flying high above.
Demi God Strix
Living under the quicksand stirs an octopus Demi God, proclaimed lord of the Sky Ocean. They say all that is lost to the quicksands become treasures of Strix. Those who seek safe passage through the Sky Ocean are wise to offer tribute to Strix or risk being pulled under the sands by a mighty tentacle.
Gerblin Tribe
A Tribe of Gerblins make their home in the Sky Sea. They live in giant sea shells and raid travelers who enter their territories. Their leader is an ex adventurer called Bitey who is known to love gambling with cards and playing his magic pan flute.
Art Elementals
A strange clan of elementals live under the ground of the Sky Ocean believing the surface world to be a dream realm. These elementals are obsessed with making art sculptures to please "The Great Crystal" their deity. The elementals visit the "Dream Realm" to get inspired for art and any creatures that follow them back to their "reality" underground are thought to be art brought to life with the power of their mind. One of these "Dream Creatures" was an Orc named Krumpa Dakka Waah who taught the elementals how to use paint to add color to their art forever changing the art elementals culture.
