Vampire

Those deemed worthy by the Empire's Church of the Immortal Sun undergo the Rite of Redemption which turns a Hume into a Vampire.   Many Vampire view the rite as an act of personal sacrifice, paving the way for a promised glorious age for both the church and the crown. These vampire embody the empire's noble traditions and believe that the emperor acts with righteous purpose. As such, these vampires carry themselves with a self-assurance that is both imposing and superior. Other societies seem lesser and unclean compared to their own, leading them to feel that they have a right to claim new lands and set them on the divine path.   Other vampires view vampirism merely as a means to attain a powerful advantage over others. These vampires are fierce, ruthless, and often cruel, relish- ing conflict—be it political or armed—as a means of demonstrating their superiority.   Vampires are viewed as holy figures in the Immortal Sun Empire by their human slaves and laborers. Hume slaves who prove their worth can become Vampire who work and fight hard in the empire's efforts.
The core of every vampire’s nature is the Feast of Blood where upon every full moon the empire feeds on their prisoners of war, heretics, and criminals from their prisons. It is forbidden to feed off Hume slaves or other innocent citizens of the empire for the church demands only to feed on enemies.
