Sigmenod
Essences: gemstones, dinosaurs
Notoriously impossible to conquer, the insular peoples of Sigmenod have as little to do with the world beyond their borders as they can, content with their internal squabbles and affairs, trading and fighting and allying with those beyond their borders only where they have to. however, compared to their chaotic neighbour, Ylohom, they are peaceable enough, and begrudgingly let trade routes run through their land.
Geography
A mostly-open dry savannah-grasslands area, cultivated in areas around the rivers and lakes (where the settled habitation is) and pastorally grazed elsewhere. Great beasts roam the plains, infused with various gemstones and minerals, and mineral-rich outcroppings dot the land everywhere.
Sigmenod's southern edge formed part of the northern border of the Caracar Supplicancy, with a few frontier tribes paying tribute to the empire at the time of Caracar's fall.
In the current era, three main political units rule the territories, continually squabbling at their borders:
- The king of the river valleys in the north-east
- The queen of the southeast uplands/mountains
- The female Lake-lord of the west (it's a spring-fed lake)
