Dune Devils

Structure

The leader of the Dune Devils is a bit of mystery, some believe him to be a Djinn trapped here on the material plane, others the last descendent of the Desert Queens of old and others still an escaped mage slave from the Centaur Empire. Endless other rumours abound amongst the desert people as to the mystery leaders identity, but rumours is all they ever are.

From what people have observed of the Dune Devils they are highly organised, running in crews of twelve with one of them serving as leader. All commands given are obeyed without hesitation and raids are carried out with purpose and precision

Public Agenda

As far as anyone can tell they are simply a highly organised bandit operation. They attack mostly merchant caravans crossing the desert but have also been known to hunt the Great Sandworms and carry out raids for people on desert settlements. They keep their faces covered with wound cloth and no one has ever seen one of their faces, they leave none of their crew behind whether dead or injured. Although they do not shy away from killing they do not seem to do so needlessly, accepting surrender if offered and simply taking what they came for. They wear no insignia and seek no infamy as some other bandit groups do.

Assets

Considering their success over the last ten years they must have acquired a vast amount of wealth by now. They are equipped with high quality weapons and armour of an unfamiliar design, suggesting access to highly skilled craftsmen. As their base has never been discovered it is unknown precisely what resources they have at their disposal, but it is obvious they are more than just a rag tag group of bandits.

Masters of wind and dune

All the Dune Devils seem to have some control over air magic which they use to great effect in how they transport themselves across the dunes. Standing on slightly domed metal plates, they strap themselves to kites via harness and rope, it is then a simple matter of creating wind. Using this method they can skim across the dunes quickly and with ease.
