Basilica Missionaries

The Swampshoal Point Basilica chapter of the All Gods Temple Missionaries is considered the boldest and most successful of all missionaries. They go out into the Basquay Sea, a wild and unruly region of the world where they encounter many types of folks, several of which are not found on the mainland.   The Basilica Missionaries have their own ship, The Curiosity, a fast three-mast galleon that has withstood storms, pirates, and angry indigenous folks. Under the command of the Lady Captain Elfilda Cleaver, a tall dignified human woman who commands a fierce and very disciplined crew as devoted to her as they are to the Basilica, this ship has developed a stalwart reputation. This is a robust passenger ship with a double hull and a full complement of Rail-istas click me for image . In addition, the majority of The Curiosity's passengers are clerics who can bring divine wrath in defense of the ship. Pirates who dare to try and plunder The Curiosity find themselves lucky if they can escape with their ship, let alone their lives. With such powerful passengers, it is such a danger to pirate ships that the Dread Pirate Kar Nodge has marked The Curiosity as untouchable.   Despite their ability to fend off pirates, The Curiosity is very accepting of them and has even added their faith in Kilo, the god of plunder, to the All Gods Temple. Those pirates who approach The Curiosity in faith and respectability will be provided cleric services such as healing.   Sailing about exploring the many islands of the Basquay Sea in search of new faiths
brings more dangers than just pirates. There are those who live beneath waves who do not appreciate land dwellers looking into their ways. Such folks are unknowing of the custom of not harming a "folk of the studded cloth" as all the All-Gods Temple clerics tend to be called. Even other land dwellers native to the Basquay Sea islands are aggressive and unwilling to accept a missionary. These sorts of discoveries have led to the deaths of more than one missionary.   There is more to find than a new faith, and the exploration missionaries are almost as eager for the chance to explore, map, and document a new island. In fact, it is the archives of the missionaries that hold the most detailed knowledge of the Basquay Sea. Though they are not in the business of selling or sharing this information, someone of good faith could be permitted to visit there. Perhaps a healthy offering would further prove someone's good faith if they really want to sift through the missionary archives.

I really like that their ship is called The Curiosity. Great name for it.
