Brightwave Depths

The northern and southern Brightwave ocean contains many civilizations but due to the nature of ocean currents and sea gods, very few of those civilizations settle in one place and even fewer amongst those last long. Instead the aquatic residents of Brightwave are largely nomadic with a singular cultural hub in the city of Lanterndeep. Lanterndeep is something of a no-mans waters to the ever feuding forces of sahaugin, sea elves, tritons, merfolk, caecalians, and kua-toa. This is due to the near constant prescence of Thalassa, primordial goddess of the sea who grew tired of bloody waters over the course of the Metisean War and requires that no blood be shed maliciously in her city, knowing it would be asking too much for the seadwelling races to forsake their violence entirely. The oceanic races are not ones to be controlled, largely self governing amongst themselves while the city of Lanterndeep is governed by Thalassa.
