S42 Recap: Snek Friends, New & Old

General Summary

Stealth? Yes, stealth. > Knock? NO KNOCK!! > Cue a prolonged period of confusion because plans are for suckers > Kirin: “Right, well. Nothing is happening so I'm gonna take charge now.” “Romad and I will greet the snake monsters and the rest of you should go hide.” > Nova: “I shall be spooder.” > Isati: “Thanks I hate it!” > The rest of the party proceeds to hide themselves in the kitchen; Isati under the table, Corayas in the oven, and Serenas just chilling > “A man wielding a dagger and a literal jaguar enter the room in absolute silence. This unfortunately scares the ever loving shit out of most of the room's inhabitants.” > #FirstImpressions #OffToARoughStart > Romad and Kirin finally get a look at these “snake monsters” and go “Hey! These are just people! What's going on here!” > Serenas hears the screams and is just able to get to the doorway in time to see one of the dracaena get a cut in on Romad before promptly getting her sword stuck in the floorboards > Romad makes a good case > Spooder-Nova does some inspirational wiggles for Romad > Everybody else (including a big ass nagini!) joins the conversation one after the other just in time for one of the veiled women to inform everybody that the punks are cool and have helped them in the past > Everybody “OOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!! They're the ladies from the crossroads!!!” > this eases the tension for all of half a second before a ominous wind blows through the church and once again all the gorgons and dracaena are in panic mode again. > “We're on the run from this cult, they train basilisks and wield the cursed iron sand” > Everybody rolls History checks but the DC was 25 so the only one knows anything is spooder-nova, who can't say shit > #CultsBeBeingMysterious > (Nova does know that they're a cult thought to be responsible for the desertification of the eastern half of the continent and are obsessed with petrification and destroying the rest of the world, but again, they're a spooder rn) > We get some rushed introductions as everyone is hurried out the door > Spooder-Nova chills above the doorway with the concerning hope that the enemies have ears > o_O > So anyways Kirin hears the front door turn to dust & gives the get ready command, Isati summons her #GiantSnakeFriend (#CharmOfAnimalConjuring #SheCanSummonHimOnceMore), and the rest of the crew take aim at a distance just in time for the back door to turn to iron sand in the wind! > And that's where we'll pick up next week!
