S7 Recap: The One Where The Beast Curb-Stomps Back

General Summary

Corayas attempts to persuade Nova to let him go so he can talk to the party people > The Beast pounces and in a straight Herculean feat Nova fucking tanks it like its nothing > (according to wolfram alpha, thats ~4148 newtons of force. The equivalent of getting hit by a motorcycle going 13~14 miles an hour > Corayas was more in the realm of reality on that one > #Rock&aHardPlace > Corayas drops to 0 hit points briefly > But he's a champ and powers through it (NAT20 DEATH SAVE, WHAT WHAT!) > Nova nyooms them to safety at the price of some blood > Nova (ooc): “Can I put him down or would that cost something?” DM: “you can lay him down gently as a bonus action, or, alternatively, You can just drop his ass, no action required” Nova (ooc): “I'm not going to drop him!” Corayas: “DO IT! I'mma just mosey on over to the corpse while pulling out my fire starter shit.” > Also it is at this point that Seranas realizes the Beast is still alive and looses an arrow > Unfortunately the whistler strikes again, first to heal the two tusk beast and a second, shriller whistle, to summon our old friend > THE BEAST WITH ONE TUSK > who promptly knocks Serenas the fuck back and breaks his concentration > However Nova has pinpointed whistle boi (Fer Doirich!) and points him out to the rest > Romad at this point realizes his Mask™ is gone and scrambles to remedy that > Two Tusk stands up and promptly SCOOTS his BOOT > Isati (To Fer Doirich): “Dude, WTF?” (also eldritch blast!) > Corayas thunderwaves One Tusk > Talos thorn whips him away from Serenas and Romad > Serenas (Still Pissed™) Charges over to where he can see whistle boi and looses another arrow at him after hunter's marking his bitch ass > Fer Doirich (in sylvan): “You are the ones who invoked the hunt upon me and mine? How cute.” > One Tusk crashes into Serenas, before bringing their unbroken tusk down on his fallen form before also dipping into the woods > Nova goes catatonic AGAIN > FD: “Well look at the time, it's time for us to make our exit, but I'll leave you with a parting gift...” > Turns up the heat on Talos' armor before turning into a raven and dipping > Romad shakes Nova the fuck awake > Corayas applies generous coolant to Talos > Serenas is stabilized > “NOW we're out of initiative” > some redcaps cheer in the distance as the party gathers their shit and finds somewhere to lick their wounds while Serenas recovers > And that's where we'll end it for tonight's Session! > Also everybody gets inspo because that shit was dope

Notes

The line "Corayas takes it's feet out from under it" refers to him casting earth tremor. What was forgotten in the original recap is that this was also the first time Corayas had a wild magic surge go off. Said surge was either a 67 or 68 and had the effect of Corayas becoming frightened of The Beast for one minute.
