Tolgod

Tolgod is a country which exists in the northwest of Elendrum and northeast Shigir.

Geography and Climate

Tolgod's territory primarily covers their homeland which consists of a large mountain range, the Tolgod mountains. The Tolgod mountains are extremely cold and very rocky, although there are many grassy plateaus which support Tolgod's many herds of yaks. The tallest of Togod's mountains is Mount Ull, at 6,892 meters (22611.5 feet) tall. Tolgod also controls the forests around lake burkan which lies west of their mountains which supplies them with fresh water, fish and timber. Tolgod is the coldest country in the midlands as the largest amount of their territory are far north and are at a very high altitude.

Culture

Tolgod is generally a very traditional country. Yaks are very important to Tolgod's people as their yaks are able to survive the cold temperatures and high altitudes of Tolgod and provide a reliable source of food and clothing. Tolgod is also famous it's stone masonry. Historically Tolgod's people were limited to living only on their mountains and these mountains had little trees but a lot of good stone. Due to this Tolgod's architecture is primarily constructed of stone and many of Tolgod's people are very skilled stone masons. Another notable part of Tolgod's culture is that it is home to many extremely strong people. This culture of strength probably originates from the heavy use of stone in the architecture, and having strong people to lift the stone is very useful. Tolgod's people are often viewed by outsiders as a bunch of gentle giants who carve stone and herd yaks for all their lives.

Architecture

Most of the people of Tolgod live in simple round huts which are entirely made out of stone except for the roofs which are usually wood or thatched. All of these huts also feature a fireplace in the middle. These huts can very greatly in size, from the size of a single large room to having several floors and being larger than most other houses. Tolgod's larger non-house buildings like government buildings are still primarily round but the more important buildings are usually built with larger and more well crafted stone. Tolgod's fortresses are crafted out of extremely large stone blocks that are held together by their sheer weight. These stone blocks are nowhere near the largest in the world, as the Tunguskan Civilization used far larger stones, but Tolgod's largest stone blocks are still extremely large.

Religion

Tolgod has a very unique religion. This religion worships 5 elements, water, air, earth, wind, and life. These 5 elements all have their own god and group of spirits associated with them and shamans are the main holy figures for this religion as they are able to communicate with these spirits and gain power of their element. Most shamans are only able to control a single element, although there are some that can control multiple and very rarely there are shamans that are able to control all elements. These shamans that can control all of the elements are usually put as leaders of the country.

Government

Tolgod's government is run by a council of shamans who all make decisions about the country's future. This council contains 9 members who all have equal power to each other. When a member of the council dies or leaves the council the remaining council member will choose another person to replace them. These people who are elidgible to join the council are shamans are they prefer the most powerful and wise shamans to join the council.   Recently, The council's power has been overshadowed by the ascension of Mithrim, an incredibly powerful sorcerer. Mithrim has become the equivalent of a monarch in terms of power but still keeps the council intact to keep the public happy and to help him govern, as he is often absent, off seeking power and glory.

Military

Tolgod is a very peaceful country and only has a small army and has a low industrial capacity and thus possess limited amounts of armoured vehicles and aircraft. Tolgod has a small army, but is still very good at repelling invasion. They are able to fight off invaders so easily because of the harsh terrain they are defending and the extremely cold temperatures. Tolgod's armies are very skilled in guerilla warfare and always where white in order to blend into their snowy landscape. Tolgod's army also has a lot of snipers that can terrorize enemies undetected from upon mountains in snow.

International Relations

Tolgod is a neutral nation and has not joined any large alliance because they dislike parts of both alliances. Tolgod hasn't joined the imperial coalition because the New Shorian Empire plans on conquering it at some point, and they wont join the free nations alliance because the Shenrian Empire, a major member of the alliance has tried to invade them twice. Other than this Tolgod has fairly friendly relations with most other nations.
