Construction beginning/endUpon arriving in Earth's orbit, the Anunnaki dispatched groups to explore and locate intelligent civilizations that could defend their planet. After assessing various civilizations, they identified the Harappa, Mayan, and Aztec civilizations as the most capable. Despite having limited options, the civilizations agreed to assist the Anunnaki, who, in turn, shared their knowledge of the universe and space travel via warp rings. The Anunnaki, however, cautioned that the civilizations could never return to Earth as doing so would violate the agreement made between them and humans to safeguard the planet against the Kreegans. This agreement, known as the Covenant, required the cooperation and training of Earth's various civilizations to protect the planet.

Technological achievementBased on their assessment, the Anunnaki estimated that the Kreegan would arrive on Earth in the year 1945 CE, given their current rate of travel. To prepare for this eventuality, the Anunnaki selected 100 individuals from the Covenant to undergo genetic augmentation and receive implanted ports, enabling them to learn advanced technology and impart this knowledge to the rest of the Covenant. These 100 individuals formed the highest ranks of the Covenant, each responsible for a specific operational sector.
