The wastes {Location}

In the grand expanse of the wastes, are ruined impenetrable structures in seemingly random places. While only portions of them can be seen and are absolutely covered the dust of the wastes. It is theorised that some of these structures are multiple kilometers in size, yet nothing of them is known.

Geography

The wastes is as the name suggests, a large desert-like wasteland. The makeup of the place itself is largely lost on travelers and occupants of the place as most of the upper layer of the country is covered in sand-like dust from a long forgotten cataclysmic spell, known to few as The day of decay. While the wastes are a wasteland, there are also plenty of smaller hills and large fissures that disrupt the otherwise even landscape of the wastes.
A unique feature of the wastes that there is no natural water in the area, one can sometimes stumble upon large seemingly dried-out lakes and rivers that only show what was lost.

Ecosystem

Not a lot is known about the ecosystem of the wastes. and it sometimes seems like there is none, as there is almost no wildlife at all the the wastes. However the terror of the Sandworms are quite a common scarestory for the children of Acren and less so in the broader world of Parenthiaa. Serving as an undying, unending threat that noone can really stop. While there are other creatures living in the wastes, the Sandworms are the creatures responsible for shaping the very land those who enter it walk.

Ecosystem Cycles

The wastes is largely a desert, meaning day and night cycles matter a lot to the temperature of the place, summer and winter however less of a meaning, sometimes however, in the winter, snow will cover up parts of the wastes, making adcenturers and the curious even easier pray for the godless place.

Localized Phenomena

The wastes are prone to irregularities of nature, be it duststorms, lightningstorms or the fact that sometimes gravity doesn't seem right, or the dead don't stay dead. All of this and more happen from time to time in localised parts of the wastes. The closer to the large forgotten structures one is, the more common
