Viva Vanam

Viva Vanam is an island mostly consisting of mountains and desert. The air is dry and very little vegetation survives. There is a singular exception on the island. A magical spring near the center of the island feeds a vertical massive jungle city full of wildlife. The jungle rises miles into the air and its roots run deep into the ground entangling with a system of caverns.
The train ride to the city passes through wastelands and mountain passes to arrive at the ground floor of Viva Vanam. The station connects to a sky path through the jungle into the upper layer of the city. Brightly glowing animals of a dizzying variety inhabit the upper layer and live in a gentle harmony. Tourism thrives here as well with visitors coming to see the bio-luminescent animals and enjoy parts of the spring for relaxing swimming.

There is also the lower layer of the jungle city. Darkness prevails here with monstrous animals living by survival of the fittest. Camouflage and ambush are common features, as well as tough hides and sharp teeth. The caverns hold unknown dangers still.
Government
A pair of druid circles runs the city. One circle oversees the upper portion of the city and keep the tenet of “All life in harmony” while the second circle oversees the lower portion of the city and keeps the tenet of “Survival of the fittest”. Both do not abide any perversion of nature and swiftly kill any that do so. Otherwise any forms of animal abuse or destruction of life lead to punishment. Essentially if it is not against nature then it is allowed.

Viva Vanam Strip – The path from the station into the city is lined with vendors and slew of curious animals glowing in the shadows of the canopy. The trees themselves even glow enterprising druids have shaped some to be more appealing. Various inns reside in the middle of trees along this path.
Viva Springs – The magical spring that supplies the forest with life is closely guarded by the druids, but there is an array of wooden channels that disperse the water through the jungle city. Portions of this are shaped into pools and swimming is allowed. Some pools are even warmed by the species of tree used to create a hot spring effect. The waters are also said to help soothe the soul and encourage long life.   The Lower Circle – Although frowned heavily upon from the upper circle of druid, the lower circle of druids runs an arena type location in the lower reaches. They argue it is allowing nature to take its course with a guiding hand. Animals are pitted against each other or against challengers from abroad. The betting is not run by the druids nor is safety guaranteed for spectators.   Overseer: Zak1932
