The party found these lodged in the bodies of some crazed humans near the River Wander (Session 28).

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The shards have a powerful Enchantment aura (via Detect Magic). Divine Sense seem to indicate some fiendish presence or influence on them. A Wisdom save against a 9th level Dominate Monster. The effect is controlled on the other end by two different beings.
