This necklace is a small number of jagged fangs driven through a rough leather cord.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
This item resizes to accommodate changes in its wearer's size and shape (including wild shape). It can hold a total of five charges, each of which is represented by a fang.
As a bonus action, the wearer of the necklace can absorb a fang into their body and expend one charge as well as a spell slot of their choice. A target creature of their choice that they can see within 30' regains 1d8 hit points per level of the spell slot expended.
Mechanically, this means a journey to territory for wolves or related animals, and a full day ritual to commune with their spirits. Roll a Persuasion (Cha) or a Survival (Wis) check, DC 10. On a success, regain one charge; for every 5 above the required difficulty, regain an additional charge.
Recharging the necklace
This item can only be recharged by communing with the spirits of nature, ideally wolf spirits. Its wearer can recount how it was used to protect their pack and if the spirits are suitably impressed, they will restore charges/fangs to the necklace.Mechanically, this means a journey to territory for wolves or related animals, and a full day ritual to commune with their spirits.
