Skill Usage
Some uses of skills can be used without using an action. This might allow a generalized idea of what that skill could provide, but not necessarily the specifics, and it’s usually when you’re looking for something in particular. A few examples:
With Medicine, a good roll might enable you to tell that an ally is poisoned/stunned/restrained after that last hit.
With Arcana, a good roll might enable you to tell what spell was just cast without any noticeable effects.
With Insight, a good roll might enable you to judge whether a creature you’re engaged with is considering changing tactics (from attack to fleeing, for example).
Athletics and Acrobatics may be used (usually during movement) to gain favorable circumstances (navigate over/around obstacles, gain the high ground, etc.). DC at GM discretion, modified based on what you’re describing you’re trying to do vs the skill being used, relative feasibility and how cool it would be if it worked.
