The Concern
Is a skeleton a valid target for
Speak with Dead (DnD Beyond)?
Details
RAW Speak with Dead (DnD Beyond): "The corpse
must still have a mouth and can't be undead."
Ruling
As RAW - As of
Session 39, it has been determined that
some flesh must remain on the corpse for
Speak with Dead (DnD Beyond) to function. Skeletons were deemed too far gone for this to be effective, but it is explicitly
not the case that full arrangement of mouthparts need to be present. This will almost certainly need finer tuning as the use of this spell comes up, but for the moment the actual dividing line is not clear.
