Awakenings Session 2 Report

General Summary

Continuing to travel towards Frost's Edge the party ran across an old wagon in the forest, which had a coffin that had once held their ally Vor . Vor, too, had been returned to life and was very confused as to what was happening. While traveling, they also escaped the notice of a white dragon that seemed to be patrolling the area, looking for something. The crew continued on through the frozen wilderness to the village of Frost's Edge . There they saw a wagon outside of town with the flag of the Iron Legion on it. Inside the village, two Orc warriors and a warchief had come to collect taxes, but apparently did not like the payment the village had given...they had several of the villagers out in the town square, one of the buildings burning. Our heroes intervened and defeated the orcs, but not before the warchief was able to smash in the skulls of two of the villagers in a show of power and an attempt to intimidate the heroes. During the battle, Tup fell, though she was patched up by Brandilyn Hart . After defeating the orcs, the villagers thanked them, but feared that the Iron Lord might send additional attackers in retaliation. The town elder also directed the heroes to go speak to the local cleric of Death , an Elf woman named Anastar Llorien . Arriving at the graveyard just outside of town, the heroes spoke with Anastar's daughter, Moira Llorien , a Half-Elf who informed them that Anastar was dying. The party asked to see her and realized that she was an old ally in the fight against the Iron Lord, someone they had fought beside, though it must have been some time ago as she was old and ancient now. With her dying breaths, Anastar informed the party that they had died 541 years ago at the Battle of the Fallen Spear in the City of Bridges , their bodies had been secreted away by the Path of the Five Spears monks that lived through the battle, as some sort of contingency plan to be resurrected at a later time...though she didn't anticipate it having taken over 500 years to trigger. In the intervening time, the Five Spears monastic order was destroyed, and the few remnants left formed a resistance group named the Righteous Spear . Anastar asked the party to join this group by visiting the City of Bridges and speaking to Bruden Arcbeard , the head of the Spears operating out of the City of Bridges. Then the old cleric died, leaving her daughter to be the new Shepherd of the Dead for the village. Two days later, her funeral was held at which the party spoke of Anastar before she was laid to rest.
