Wolf of the North Session 3 Report

General Summary

Our heroes Vor (half-orc monk), Tup (goblin dragon-blooded sorcerer), Vihra (human rogue) and Brandilyn (human cleric of the Moon) went to Banshee Bridge to see if they could find some shelter for the villagers they are escorting while Grilsnick (half-orc ranger) and Ranzak (champion of the Moon) stayed behind to protect the villagers [in other words, two of the players weren't there]. Once they arrived at the bridge, which crossed a chasm in the mountains and is the quickest way to the pass leading out of the frozen land of Mordau, they discovered that a large portion (about a half-mile section) had been destroyed, effectively making the bridge a no go!   But they discovered something worse...an orc ambush by the Elf-Eaters tribe (the orcs that attacked the village in the first place).. It was made clear after the orcs pushed Vihra into a couple of traps that they had set up that the orcs were no wandering, random encounter. Soundly thrashing the orcs The party scouted the area a bit more. Brandi discovered a mine shaft about 40 feet down the sloping mountain side that had been closed off.   Vihra first climbed down to try to see if she could find any traps, but all she found were enigmatic runes drawn on the rocks in a language none of the heroes could read. Tup eventually discovered some mushrooms growing between two rocks and eventually they opened up a tight squeeze into the mine to discover that not only was it VERY warm (especially compared to the frigid cold) but that it was also blanketed in various fungi.   Tup and Vor ate some of the fungus with no ill effects, but Vihra was not quite as lucky as it made her violently ill and clouded her mind for a short period of time. After some discussion, Tup, Vihra and Brandi decided to stay behind at the mine entrance to make sure it wasn't overly dangerous while Vor double-timed it back to the makeshift refugee camp. After about 15 minutes, Tup, Vihra and Brandi got bored (uh, I mean worried that Vor might run into something on the way back) and decided to go after Vor.   When Vor got back to the banshee wagon wreck that was serving as the refugee camp, he made a terrible discovery. While he was gone there had been an attack..the villagers, Grilsick and Ranzak were all missing and there was blood all over the place. A massive she-ogre stood in the center of the wreckage, apparently waiting for anyone to come back....Vor was about to leap into a fight (alone) with the ogre when...   ....I managed to screw up my head set and had to call the game...
