The City Angelus is established in the Redlands where celestials and humanoids (mostly Human ) live together in relative harmony. The gods walk among the people.
Trickery backed up by fiendish influence allows the human Tinas Naran to become the first Human King of Dwarves in Hammerfell.
The fiends that empowered the First Human King of Dwarves true goal is enacted. Portals from the lower planes tear through allowing fiends of all types to invade. The dwarves of Hammerfell put of a valiant fight but quickly find that they are losing.
Many dwarves and elves leave Hammerfell . Many elves go into the Sunless Realms at the behest of the Spider Queen, eventually becoming Forsaken Elves or Drow.
Desperate to win the battle with the fiends, the First Human King of Dwarves enacts the Ritual of Parody, turning all who will or have ever died in Hammerfell into undead under his control. As the First Human King of Dwarves was completing the ritual, he was fatally attacked by a devil, causing him to be trapped in the ritual himself, though he rose again as a lich rather than a semi-sentient undead.
Chaos is imprisoned in the Black Citadel located in the center of the Desert of Chaos .
Chaos nearly escapes the Black Citadel. Fortunately its release was defeated by the band of adventurers known as the Sun Hunters.
The Great Kingdom of Estrabaq is formally founded, uniting several elven settlements and regions into one unified whole.
The Council of Mystic Universities, the body that oversaw all formal magical instruction throughout Marrikan, announces that necromancy is anathema. Necromantic curriculum is removed from all universities. The Necromancer's College is formed in a hidden location.
Elves in all lands ruled by the Iron Legion are rounded up and put to death. As a result, elves are almost rendered extinct on Marrikan.
The battle that would become known as the Battle of the Fallen Spear begins. During this battle, great heroes are killed, many of them taken away by members of the Path of the Five Spears to be called upon again in an hour of great need. The most important are taken to the School of the Five Spears in Mordau in the hopes that the Iron Legion will not locate them and destroy their corpses before the ritual can be enacted.
The City of Bridges falls to the Iron Legion . The Iron Lord claims the Summerlands as his own and dissolves the Kingdom of Estrabaq with a public execution of all members of the monarchy and parliament, an execution which he personally carries out over a period of three days.
After most of the world fell to the Iron Legion , the Age of Iron began, as the Young People reckon it.

The Iron Lord declares all formal magical education illegal within his realm. Magical universities across the realms are closed, though rogue wizards still (illegally) train other wizards, keeping the traditions alive. Despite his best efforts, the Iron Lord is unable to locate the Necromancer's College hidden deep within Destrian Swamp , likely because necromancy had been outlawed 200 years previous and the necromancers had become quite adept at hiding.
Addressing all of the known religions from his throne at City Angelus , the Iron Lord gave the various churches and temples of the world an ultimatum. As long as they did not interfere with his rule, he would allow their followers to continue to worship. While not all temples agreed with this, those that did not were quickly struck down. The gods called a great convocation and, after much debate, agreed to the Iron Lord's accords, though the wording was changed somewhat and subtly with the help of several devil princes who excelled at loopholes far better than the Iron Lord did at the behest of the Seven Vices. This ended in the result that the churches and temples who were within lands controlled by the Iron Legion were unable to directly stand in conflict with or aid the enemies of the Iron Legion. Thus, many temples and churches give indirect aid while officially staying out of the affairs of the Iron Legion.
