Domestication
Selective breeding has isolated and improved its natural navigational instincts.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
This bird is very popular throughout the tropics, subtropics, and temperate regions for its usage in mundane long distance communication. Its natural navigational abilities along with its superb capability at mimicry make it the perfect animal for delivering non-urgent messages or information far away. It is especially popular on ships, seeing frequent use by merchants, sailors, and pirates to communicate with each other or make short reports to governing bodies.
In some regions usage of the parlance parrot is heavily monitored. Citizens may be be required to register their parlance parrots locally or regionally to ensure that they aren't be used as a means of conveying information between spies, pirates, or invaders.

Average Intelligence
Capable of basic cognitive reasoning.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
What makes the parlance parrot so fascinating (and useful) is its spectacular ability to navigate. It uses a combination of infrared sound to recognize the unique patterns that guide it to its destination as well as sun navigation and landmark familiarity. It is not only capable of mimicry but, with practice, a parlance parrot is intelligent enough to grasp the basic meaning of a selection of words.
