Caitiff
A caitiff is a religious title bestowed by the Caelsimilian church, a kind of antisaint, or despicable person. Those deemed caitiff are trouble to all, and are to be legally hunted and executed. Typically reserved for leaders of wars against the church.
Appointment
Those people deemed not only contrary to the religion but infact to all the world are deemed caitiff. Monsters in simple terms. No one turely bestows the title, this leads to it being used very rarely. The use of the term in polite company in reference to persons not traditionally refered to as one is seen as a major political and ethical stance. Typically a person truely becomes a caitiff when a major religious leader begins to use the term in referance to them however.
Cultural Significance
The term caitiff is somewhat contencious, using it on someone not veiwed by the Caelsimilian and Alterian as a whole is a serious mark and not thrown around lightly.
Where in many ways Caelsimilian culture grows more liberal this is not one. In fact, the term Caitiff is seen as much more insulting and dark than in the Altersot.

Notable Holders
The first Caelsimilian to be accepted as a caitiff is the Oracle of Bones, the dark oracle who raised undead armies to conquore the Caelsimilian Peninsula.
Vihrea famously was declared a caitiff following the failure to complete the required pilgrimage. The declaration is somewhat contested, notably her sister the Oracle Industria who has refused the use of the term, instead applying it to her mother Evelyn Ilvreh. A somewhat contentious issue within the religion, the answer to the question 'Is Vihrea a caitiff?' speaks wonders for knowing the person's approval of the Order, with 'No,' and 'Yes, but so is her mother,' strongly denoting support- though none of these are perfect indicators.
