Current Emperor Corros Thimblebottom of the ruling family has almost unlimited power. Senate made of representatives from each planet.
Founded Cornelius Thimblebottom is venerated as a god and empire is named after him. the empire's capital city Thimblestead on Phothelea is built on the bones of a god that was killed by Cornelius during the gnome v god war. this ended that war and created the empire. The empire sought to expand as quickly as possible once the war was over. They create large (steampunk) spaceships. They have colonized many planets and many choose to join the empire. Any planet they govern gains the protection of the GRDN (galactic ranger detachment and navy) and a huge increase in the quality of life as they build out infostructures from the large black obelisk that gets deposited along the most useful magical ley lines possible this allows them to function as communications, local teleportation, divination and protection for the city built at the base which governs the planet. Those under the empires protection must provide them with an annual tax.
