Paxus The World After Us

The Year of Tumult

The once sharply declining population of humans seems to have stabilized, though they are still looked upon with a deep sense of mistrust. Was it not them that insulted the gods who have since abandoned Paxus long ago? Was it not them that created the dark ways of technology that almost destroyed the world? What next malady will their kind unleash upon the world?   Aye, all this may be true, but consider this. Were it not for them, the veil between worlds would not have been drawn back, allowing the elves, dwarves and magic into the land once again. Were it not for their inquisitive ways, would there even be such races as the Simians, the Lizardfolk and the Tabaxi? And, if not for the curiosity of man, there would not have been the opening of the path of belief, allowing the once reclusive Thri-kreen to once again stride across the desert sands.   And now, with the help of humans, shall all the civilized races unite against the evils of the land. For the evils are many and their slavery holds no discrimination against any race. The orcs, gnolls and goblins of the world all bow to their evil overlords and bring any and all to serve under the whip or fall under the blade.
