Master Miloš,
I am glad that this letter will safely make its way into your hands. I am also glad to know you are well. I hope that your travels are keeping you out of trouble. I’m sure you’ve gotten full word of what’s happened to Warwikhamp in the last month. Dreadful stuff, my deepest condolences for the loss. The town itself has a long, storied history with the Kingdom, as I’m sure you’re aware. Its destruction is a tremendous loss to Portshilia and the Kingdom. Thankfully, again as I’m sure you know, most of the citizens managed to evacuate. I deeply hope all those you care about made it out safe. I just want you to know that the King has assured me that his retribution will be strong.
But I did not send this message as a greeting and exchange of well wishes. I would like to cordially extend to you, and the other heroes of Vortex, an invitation to Throne to be honored for your bravery at the dreadful attack last month. The Augurs and Lords of the Court were all impressed by my tales of you and your companions’ bravery in the face of our assailants. As such, there is to be a small but stately feast in your honor in Throne.
The feast will consist of members of the King’s Bulwark also being honored for acts of bravery, as well as various lords, Augurs, and Dukes. The King himself may be in attendance if his schedule permits.
Please come to the House of the Fifth Eon in the Amber Ring of Throne when your schedule permits. Please arrive at your leisure, as I assume you and your companions are busy folk with many plans of your own. And, no need to write back, we already know when and if you will arrive.
Please do extend to Avalanche any and all courtesies you would extend to me or your King. He comes with our benediction and authority to deliver this invitation. After he has delivered this letter unto you, he will travel along the coast with you for a time until he arrives at a ship which will be taking him to his next assignment. He is a strong lad, and I believe you may have quite a bit in common. You may be glad he’s with you.
I look forward to seeing you and your colorful companions yet again, young master Miloš.
