Lewin van Hestt

Roaming Troubadour Extrordinaire

Born sometime in the 8990s, Lewin van Hestt is a Hedge bard who travels the roads of Pillarin in an effort to spread good cheer and look for work. His songs are unconventional, telling of his own travels and deeds rather than others. This has built him a small reputation across the Union of Free Cities over.   Very little is known about his early life as he keeps details of his personal life secre, but his first known performances began in the region of Hestt near the small Free City of Lingay in the early 9040s. As he traveled farm to farm, he set himself apart from the bards of the Cleomand Coast by singing of the beauty that could be found in the simplicities of lowborn life. This was enough to earn him a small following and a reputation by word of mouth. He has made appearences on the streets Free Cities across the entire central Union since then, seemingly inventing new subgenres of song and lyrics with every performance. The further he traveled, the more stories he would incorporate into his songs regarding who and what he saw of the commonfolk and their simple happy lives.   In a rather highly attended performance in a plaza of the Bigton Warrens, he was approached by members of the Society of Sensation from their Resonance Academy branch to extend an invitation to become a member. Lewin politely declined, saying he had never studied at a bardic college and had no intention to, drawing applause from the crowd. The Society of Sensation bards decried his arrogance and departed. Several months later, virtually every city in the Cleomand Coast barred him from entering or performing while without a college. This happened to coincide with an impromptu performance in Comyard, where his fans protected him from the city watch as they gave chase.   After his expulsion from the Coast, Lewin's reputation only grew. However, in 9047, the city of Pesburough brought a resolution to the Union of Free Cities' small Cultural Preservation Committee, which barred any non-college accredited bard from performing inside member city limits. After the resolution passed, Lewin began performing exclusively along the roads, most popularly along the Imperial Highway. He was last seen performing in the Underway of The Orelands, some hearing him say he was looking for some other kinds of work as of late to keep food on the table.
