Termina Night
Termina Nights are a celestial phenomenon that occur on Perradin in which the moons of Belrodin, Penthe, and Rerrick all enter a full phase simultaneously in the night sky. On nights when they occur, individuals witnessing the event are filled with an energy and vigor, often defying their current state. While Termina Nights do occur aligning with the naturally cyclical phases of the moon, Termina Nights have been known to rarely and mysteriously happen outside of the natural phases, which suggests a supernatural or divine origin. Scholars and holy men have been unable to understand how or why Termina Nights occur outside their natural cycles. To add to the mystery, Termina Nights can occur in extreme isolation, as small as regions, towns, or even on individuals. Those who have witnessed a Termina Night outside the natural cycle report even more intense effects and strange occurrences in the night that defy explanation.
The name Termina Night derives from the primal being of endings, Termina. The association comes from a superstition that those affected by the phenomenon march with renewed purpose toward their fate or destiny. While Termina has no direct connection to the moons of Perradin, the belief has persisted over time from apocryphal stories as to what occurs on such nights. According to the superstition, the ending an individual marches to can be trivial, major, or even fatal. Termina's domain is that of all endings, malevolent and benign, and it is reasoned that Termina Nights are her will speeding people to where they need to be to reach their most immediate ending. Additionally, according to some apocryphal evidence, impossible things are known to happen; nights will feel far longer than they should be, people will engage in fervent activity far beyond their physical abilities, and, it's been said, that reality itself can begin to warp before the night is done. This, it is theorized, is to speed the affected to their destiny.
Before the Starfall and the Velnorclast, Termina Nights would occur with all four moons. It is not recorded if there was any difference in the effects during this time period, simply that they still occurred.
Manifestation
Termina Nights appear as the three moons in a full state and in the sky simultaneously, typically directly overhead or in the mid horizon. The full light from all three moons is usually enough to illuminate the landscape, their colors combining to paint a given area in a soft white hue. Often times, the moons are described as having an aura or a "moonbow" effect.
Localization
Termina nights can be experienced virtually anywhere on Perradin. However, given their strange nature, they can be incredibly isolated or across large swaths of countryside. Often times, a single town might experience it, but travelers on the road or a town over will report no witness of the event. This phenomena of isolated experiences combined with the unnatural lunar phase is usually enough to instill unease in those who experience it.
