It is the mid 91st century of the First Free City (FFC). The world of Perradin orbits a single sun and is orbited by three moons. It is a world consisting of three major continents and several island subcontinents. Sinderlan is the large continent of the western hemispher, and where the campaign will begin. It is comprised of four nations, two of which are minor powers. The Final Kingdom dominates the continent, as it has for the past 10,000 years. The Didacian Consulate rules in the south inside a massive crater and surrounding archipelago, an area formally arctic in nature, permanently altered by powerful magics. The Duchy of the Crag rules a secessionist region to the west of the Final Kingdom, dominated by desert, steppe, and canyons. The region of Hrim lies in the far northwestern peninsula of the continent, an area oft viewed by outsiders as a the center of discord in the world. The world of Perradin has seen its share of rise, fall, and stagnation. A great and storied history punctuated by visceral moments of upheaval. But the past millennia for the continents of Sinderlan, Pillarin, and Plentius have been of note for not being of note. The great powers of the Free Cities have vied for meaningless prestige while their people slowly convert to the Cult of The Fen either by their own free will or by force at the end of a sword. The Final Kingdom rots away in its impregnable fortresses as its extremities slowly break away, its people constantly looking to its augurs for answers as they are gripped by famine and war. The seafaring Didacian Consulate's parliament is in constant power struggles within itself while the school of the once all-powerful Didacy becomes less relevant to the world it helped shape. But in the shadows, powers are on the move to take advantage of the stagnation and throw Perradin into what some believe to be another age of strife.
