Lord Barris Reīn (bɑrːɨs reiːn)
The eldest son and next in line to govern House Reīn of Hœm should his father retire or pass, Barris Reīn would rather have nothing to do with his family, their business, or any political ambitions (the mayorship) they have. Commanded to seek a proper marriage allegiance by his father, Lord Tanryk, he disobeyed and married not one, but two commoners, a woman and a man. Although not a Ptarshakkian city, the house claims descent from Ptarshishin explorers. Thus, a dual marriage, and indeed same-sex marriage was part of their heritage. However, Tanryk was doubly enraged for Barris' denying the possibility of marriage to a rival house, and that it was across class lines. Barris married two of his family staff on their island-house in the grand canal of Port Hren and he did it without informing any of his family. His lord-father's response was to order the execution of the spouses, Tỳrrel Tchéss Reīn and Abbria Reīn.
Mental characteristics
Sexuality
Freely bisexual. He is married, "in the manner of the Ptarshakkians," which is to say, either multiple marriages, and/or samesex marriages. In Barris' case it is both. He has a husband, an ethnic Mỳdrian, Tỳrrel Tchéss; and an ethnic Hœmmé wife, Abbria t'Hrenōeth. Both of whom were formerly servants in his family's homes. The Tchéss men had served for at least three generations previously. Barris and Tỳrrel had grown up together and were secret lovers for a very long time before they were married.
Alignment
Good, morally, if kinda loosey goosey about legal matters and obeying authority figures.
