Orca Whales

The Legend of the Orca's

Due to human’s naivety, they did not believe that the Orca whales, or any sea life, could have high levels of intelligence. Humans brought capitalistic ventures into the Orca’s oceans - in the form of shitty metal tanks, oil dumping, and unusual titans they called “Yachts”.   When the Orca Whales came at the humans directly, the humans were flabbergasted. They had never seen any other species conduct such a coordinated attack. Almost militaristic.   It has been years since a sighting of an Orca whale from the ocean. It is unclear whether they are alive or if the ocean pollution has killed them off. Humans stopped going into the oceans because of the growing dangers from Orca whales and high levels of toxic pollution…

The Great Orca Rebellion

Hundreds of years ago, Orca whales lived in silence and peace. They enjoyed the ocean’s serene openness, allowing them to communicate across miles of sea. The sea fed them well and in return they did not overeat. They spent their time playing and eating when needed, until thick toxic fats flooded the great waters they called home, directly from the humans.   At one point, the assorted colors within the oceans were vibrant and bright. Orca whales enjoyed easy living and mostly harmless ocean exploration. The humans, with their short memories, don’t even remember the beauty of the ocean before the harm they did to it.   The Orcas couldn’t take it anymore. They started to follow the human boats and tanks. They logged in their eternal memory the things humans have done to ocean life. They may not have access to knowledge of human history directly, but they have gathered a lot of data through understanding flags and symbols the humans use.   They created elaborate schemes to take down human technology of any kind in the oceans. The Orca whales collaborated to ram at yachts, using techniques to throw off the humans and sink the ships. (The humans were good as food for sharks and the yachts became homes to much needed underwater ecosystems.)   Once rebellion began, the humans had no choice but to retreat from the ocean or die.

Orcas in Today’s Petalfalls Universe

The Orcas attack on the most elite classes of humans created a sense of community between the working classes and the Orca whales for the humans. The legend of the Great Orca Rebellion is a symbol for the poor working classes, often worn on t-shirts by young progressives or on activist group flags.
