Paladins
A Paladin is someone who has sworn an oath before the gods with such conviction that they receive an infusion of divine power.
For some nations, sites of veneration to the gods are devoted specifically to one god or another. In these nations, those making oaths may go to a particular temple to make the oath, or associate themselves with the clergy of a particular god. The appropriate god would depend on the details of the oath, and may vary from the examples below. Most oaths are probably made "before the gods" in a general sense.
An Oath of Ancients is typically sworn before the god of growth and destruction.
An Oath of Conquest could be sworn before the god of growth and destruction, the god of war and peace or the god of leading and following.
An Oath of the Crown is typically sworn before the god of leading and following.
An Oath of Devotion could be sworn before the god of war and peace or the god of leading and following.
An Oath of Vengeance could be sworn before the god of growth and destruction or the god of war and peace.
