The Chaosium
Architecture
A building living up to its name, hundreds of feet tall with walls made of what looks like carved glass, the glittering flagpoles adorned with brightly colored flags of orange and red and white. The doorway is broad, glittering gold and the inside seems bright and inviting, the sounds of merriment echoing through the neighborhood. Inside is beautiful, with arched, towering ceilings over the gaming tables, and beautiful carved glass walls just like the outside. A veritable army of kobolds dressed in dashing suits scamper around, holding aloft trays of moonlight and fine wine and dandelion fluff. It is bright, airy, and friendly, and these facts make it possibly the most dangerous place for those who have anything to lose.
Tourism
The chaosium is not closed to mortals, but it is definitely not made for them. Mortals can wager most anything there, including their life. Years can pass there unnoticed, and many a lifetime has been squandered in the bright halls of the Chaosium. The venue is run by Yanlae, the god of gambling houses, and he is naturally the best at his craft. He runs a tight ship, and is only sometimes challenged by his right hand ‘man’, Seren.
One of the biggest draws is the colosseum part of the chaosium. While there are fights between man and beast, more popular by far are those between man and machines, or even machines versus machines. These machines can house the essence of a star, and they inhabit these mechanical beasts until destroyed or the battle ends. Most, if not all, of them are created by Serabim, the eccentric inventor who toils in a workshop underneath the chaosium.
