HALLWAY
A short hallway, with simple white walls and a tiled floor connects the main part of the house to the outside, providing the southern exit and a good many places to hang coats and cloaks, the walls lined with hooks to receive the outerwear of visitors. Most of them are empty, though a few hold things like a raincoat, a winter parka, and a light walking jacket, all of which look used but in good condition. Boxes on the ground presumably hold boots and other such shoes, as well as providing a place to sit when putting them on. There are notably, no windows, though it is lit well enough by a series of gas lamps that line the walls, as well as by light through the screen door, the main door having been left open for a breeze and some light.
MASTER'S DINING ROOM
The main dining room is stately, with a dark wood floor and an impressive chandelier hanging over the brown-black wood of the dining table. The back of the room is filled with a large set of white stone steps with an elaborate wooden bannister, leading up to parts unknown, and under the highest part of the stairs, along with a small cabinet, there is a narrow wooden door, shut tightly. The walls are the same white as in the hallway, contrasting with the nearly black food of the floor, which is well polished and shiny. There are a number of chairs at the massive table, 10 or 12 at least, all of them matching black wood and white upholstery cushions. On the eastern wall, there is a large picture window, beside which is a glass door that leads out to the patio, and on the southern wall there is a simple doorway leading to the kitchen. The western wall is primarily taken up by an enormous family portrait, presumably of the Whitblades, held in a gilded frame. Surrounding it are several small portraits, each containing paintings of people you recognize as the staff of the household, though you do not know all of their faces. The remainder of the wall is covered in framed newspaper clippings and sketches, presumably related to the famed business of Whitblade Fineries.
FRIFT'S QUARTERS
A sparsely furnished, not much lived in room that houses the family's butler, Brant Frift, when he is not on duty. The bedframe is a plain, untreated wood, and the narrow mattress seems to take up altogether too much space, making it feel awkward and crowded even in its barren state. The sheets are undyed wool, made neatly with matching covers on the thin looking pillows. A simply patterned throw rug covers the floor, angled so it can cover the ground by the bed and the overstuffed leather armchair which sits by the door. Under the window in the west wall there is a wide night table with a hairbrush, a glass of water, and a lantern sitting on top of it, and several books lay on its lower shelf. The wardrobe is thin but wide, and nearly touches the ceiling from where it sits opposite the nightstand. It too, is plain, untreated wood. By the door, there is a small shelf for personal items, on which sits several more books, some documents, and a pipe.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is an airy, though crowded room, taken up mainly by a large fireplace on the southern wall, framed by two windows. a counter runs along the wall to the left of the fireplace and around the corner, a dark marble shot through with whitish veins. There are two doorways, each concealing a sliding door within its frame to that those dining can eat without sound from the kitchen, and in between them is a hutting brown-black table with several tall stools pushed underneath it. Directly to the left of the fireplace is a dark metal stove, around it hanging many fire-blackened pots and pans, and a cheery looking kettle glazed a robin's egg blue. A sink sits in the corner nearby, gleaming silver and clean with a brass spigot jutting out from the wall. Various jars and containers litter the back of the counter, and many spoons and knives hang from racks on the walls alongside wine racks and drying herbs. The other side of the room is dedicated to several large and impressive cabinets, each presumably containing nonperishable ingredients and other such things. They frame a thin walkway between them, allowing access but perhaps not liking it, as each door shows signs of frustrated violence, a broken and repaired handle, a heavy scuff mark, and other such signs of frequent and begrudging use.
SERVANT'S DINING ROOM
A less grand affair than its stately other half, the servant's dining room is quiet, and comfortable in the way that the other is grand and impressive. No chandelier hangs over the light brown table, instead it is lined with several simple candelabra, each holding 2 or 4 slim beeswax candles. The chairs are slightly mismatched, seemingly taken from two different sets, and show more sign of use than the other dining room chairs. They are all light wood, though differing shades of it, and the cushions that do sit atop them are patched and well worn. The walls are the same white as elsewhere, though instead of paintings, they are lined with gas lamps like the ones in the hallway. A similar staircase to the other one fills the back of the room, though it is simple wood with a simple bannister, nothing like the stately one in the other room. However, just like the other staircase, there is a tall and narrow door underneath a part of the stairs just tall enough to receive it.
DEEPSUN'S QUARTERS
Elzira's room: door to the Deepsun's quarters is closed, but unlocked. However, the door is stuck, and requires a DC 10 strength check to get it open, and then a DC 13 stealth check to see if it can be done without making a lot of noise. If stealth is failed but strength is not, Darcy will come in from the kitchen to see what is the matter. Possible slight of hand check to close door? low/mid DC. door can be attempted more than once, but after a few tries, Darcy will be alerted.
Elzira's room: messy, with what little she has. Under her loft bed lay a few toys, arranged in a game that has since been forgotten. In between her room and her father's room there is a door, and right outside it is a large armchair and a bookcase, with a few children's books on it.
Ravi's room is sparse, bed tidy but not made, desk clean but with ink marks on the wood. DC 17 investigation check: it almost looks as if there were 2 people sleeping in the bed instead of just 1. DC 19+: looking closer, you see some long, curly brown hairs on the white pillows, along with a few long red ones.
