SERAPHINA'S ROOM Seraphina's room was clearly the master bedroom, and by all rights should have been Nadia's, after her death, but apparently, the appearance of the ghost has stopped her from moving in. There is a large bed, complete with soft sheets and many pillows, and two nightstands, one on each side. The fireplace is large, and beside it sits a comfortable rocking chair. There is a plush rug, and it keeps away the cold, as the window has a draught. On the wall of the stairwell, which leads down to Seraphina's workshop, there is a simple desk, which is empty save for a few unsharpened pencils. (DC 13 investigation check: there is a small lever on the underside of the desk, which, when pressed, opens a secret compartment in between the drawer of the desk and the top itself. Within there is a single piece of paper, yellowed with age. On it is a sketch of Seraphina as a young woman, laughing by the fireplace, seemingly pregnant. However, something about it is wrong. Seraphina was supposedly never pregnant, as Nadia, her only child, was adopted. ) There is a large wardrobe next to the desk, full of old clothing that presumably belonged to Seraphina.   HÉLENA'S ROOM Though the door to Hélena's room is usually locked, after her escape on day 3, it is unlocked and able to be searched. There is a large, dark rug on the floor, its pattern faded but still beautiful. The bed is unmade, stripped of its sheets and anything that may be of use, lighter blankets gone and heavier ones thrown aside. the shelves are mostly barren, leaving behind only old books and a few assorted trinkets. The dresser, too, is empty of most clothes, and what remain are strewn around the room. The fireplace is empty, not used for many days, and the room is cold, the window left ajar.   THEODORE'S ROOM Theo's room: door left ajar, but the floorboards creak and anyone going in requires a DC 13 stealth check lest they alert those in the floor below. inside theo's room: fairly tidy, there's some books on tailoring sitting on the mantle, well worn, some history and mathematics books, untouched, and in the drawer of the night table there are some papers with various doodles and sketches. Some are for projects, notes on alterations, ways to fix problems with specific dresses, and scattered around the more practical notes, there are sketches of Mathias (a young man, if players have not met him yet).   NADIA'S ROOM When first contracted, players were told that they were allowed in Nadia's room, though only with her present so she may oversee their search and ensure the privacy of herself and others. However, when she is out on days 3 and 4, her room is left vacant and can be entered. Nadia's room is as sparse as the other rooms in the house, pure function and little personal effects. However, it is clear that a woman of high status lives here. Her makeup is sat on top of her long wooden dresser, neatly organized below a large and silver mirror. The bed is more luxurious than the others in the house, but is far below what you would expect from a Lady. The pillows are plush and the sheets are of a deep and shimmery red, which matches swaths of satin that drape the walls in various places. The fireplace is unadorned, only an antique clock and a few small pictures of her children adorning the mangle, and there has been no fire as of late. Beside the fire there is a portable writing desk, complete with bottles of ink, quills, pens, and parchment. There is a small cushioned stool on the dark throw rug, which has several ink stains on it. (DC 8 perception check: the corner of the rug is folded over and there is a pale mark on the dark floor. underneath the rug there is a circle of strange symbols, each of them painted in slightly messy white ink. (DC 17 INT or Arcana check: you recognize the symbols as ones that are used by the worshippers of demonic orges called Oni.)) There is a small shelf, on which are a few books, gathering dust.   TOWER STAIRS The stairs to the tower are a steep spiral of dark stone, only further darkened by the lack of windows and lamps.
