Dogwolf Sleigh

In the frozen steppe at the feet of the Unscaled Rise , the most reliable transport method are the dogwolf sleighs. The White Bear tribes build these sturdy vehicles out of the rare trees that grow at the borders of their territories or, more commonly, from animal bones and leather.   Each sleigh is commonly pulled by one to seven Dogwolf, depending on the weight of the conductor and the load, attached in pairs in front of the sleigh, with one dog leader at the head who gets the direction from the conductor.   The sleigh in itself is formed by a lightweight frame on two sharpened bone blades, the bulk of the vehicle is actually made up by the load, carefully placed to keep the vehicle balanced and contribute to the stability. A well loaded sleigh is in fact more maneuvrable and easy to pull than an empty one as it has a better grip over the icy terrain and less risk to be upturned over slopes and curves.   Usually the single dog sleigh are not used with a conductor, but are cargo vehicles that travel besides caravan or larger sleighs. Some sleighs are equipped with small wheels if they expect to travel on patches of dry land in the good season, but most don't bother and choose another transport method or a different route.
