Orc's blood wine

Served in the worse watering holes of Southaven.

If you are brave enough to enter, risking your life, in the alleys close to the harbour of Southaven you may be lucky enough, or ill-fated, to cross a drink that enjoys a legendary fame all across Phaldorya: Orc's blood wine. A spirit having the power to unleash the most aggressive instincts in human nature and make you strong and vicious as the creature whose blood gives, according to the legend, the colour and flavour to this wine.

When I go in the cellar to get a bottle of Orc's blood wine, rarely I have to wait more than ten minutes before the tavern is the theatre of a fantastic brawl
— Elmer Galdur, Innkeeper at the Blushing Mermaid

According to innkeepers tales in the harbour district of Southaven, city that allows and promotes the commerce of this drink, it is a full-bodied wine with the addition of, in proportions known only to the producer, an amount of orc's blood.   The method of collection of a sufficient amount of blood from an orc and how they can get it without getting slaughtered it is a mistery, although the production difficulties have contributed to increase the fame and price of this product. People who drinks it have an immediate sensation of strength and feel out of control and get quickly angry, so that the distance between the first glass and the brawl is only a sidelong glance.   Humans are the only creatures to drink this wine, as dwarf hate orc so much that is impossible for them assume anything contaminated by them. Elves, even assuming to meet one outside of their golden isolation, don't like strong drinks.

This spirit is generally produced, in a secret place, in corked and sealed bottles of three quarters of liter.

Since the product has a limited availability a bottle costs not less then fifteen gold pieces, although the cost is much increased in the country where its commerce is forbidden by the law, such as Saythian or Dragon Kingdom.

Its colour is a dark green, the taste full-bodied and pasty, burns the throat and warms the belly.
