Culture
Shared customary codes and values
The strength of the orc is in the tribe, the strength of the tribe is in the orc!
Although orc society is chaotic and violent, the bond of union that connects the members of a tribe is strong. Orc realize that a fist to punch hard needs the partecipation of all its fingers, therefore orc that don't work for the common good of the tribe, become rapidly outcasts and their lives are forfeit. The same occur to half-orcs, these half-blood creatures are considered inferior and unworthy.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Orcs respect strength before anything else, therefore a strong muscular body is generally appreciated both in male and female. Long fangs are another aspect that is generally considered attractive. In the females, large flanks and bosoms considered indicative of fertility are highly sought after. A peculiarity of these tribe is the care they have for their hair, long ostentatious hairstyle are considered the ultimate signs of beauty. They appreciate as well hairy bodies.
Gender Ideals
Equally male and females are expected to be able to fight and defend themselves and their property. Orcish society doesn't respect weakness and violence regulates most aspects of their lives. Homosexual parternship are not unusual, as well as bisexuality.
Courtship Ideals
In the silver claw tribe as well as in other orchish clans, the hierarchy to get a partner is established by fighting prowess. Usually directed to neighbouring clans or human settlements, when these aren't promptly available it is considered normal that young members of the tribe will fight together "to release the steam". A powerful fighter can take whoever they want as a partner, even if normally the strongest individual attract each other.
Relationship Ideals
Relationships in the orc society are rarely permanent, partially because of the short life-span and partially because the clan is all the family an orc needs. Even the offspring of relationships between orcs belongs to the community once they perform the Gruh'tular and from that moment the tribe will look after them until they are able to fight.
Sounds like these orcs really take to heart the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child". I like them :)
Their lives are savage and short, therefore becoming orphans is not unusual. I needed a way to grant continuity to the species and it seemed very sensible to me.
