Eldath

Eldath is the goddess of peace and still waters. She was, long long ago, a water spirit of a mirror tarn. She was prayed to by the primitive people of the day and accepted the responsibility of divinity when it was presented to her.
Her divine portfolio consists of peace, non-violence, oases, druid groves, pure and still waters, and occasionally navigable inland waterways.
Her symbol is a waterfall flowing into a calm pool.

Water

Eldath is closely linked to the element of water, and claims great powers to purify bodies of water. Her faithful are also skilled in the purification of tainted land, suspect food and drink, and in the treating of poisons and diseases.
Considering her aspect over calm waters, she is rarely invoked at sea, as that is thought likely to upset Umberlee, the goddess of oceans and storms. The deity more likely to be invoked is Valkur, deity of sailors and ships. Waters sacred to Eldath tend to be calm and clear lakes on rivers and ponds.
While a surface that stays clear and calm despite agitation is said to be a sign of Eldath's power, ripples travelling across a surface are claimed to be the process by which Eldath purifies water and emotion, and many Eldathian worshippers will meditate while watching the effect of a drip across the surface of a basin of water.

Peace

Eldath and her faithful refuse to enact violence on others. She does not demand pacificism from others though, as she would consider such a demand as a subtle violence against the freedom of others to make that choice themselves. Instead she invites her followers to learn self-defence that redirects an enemy's attack against itself. Many of it's higher level practitioners are able to damage attackers with their own strength, and reflect magic back upon the caster.
Eldath has a non-antagonistic relationship with Tempus and the Red Knight. Although war and peace are opposing concepts, many civilized worshippers of battle will invoke Eldath once they consider that their own work is done. Some of the good-aligned cults of Tempus hold Eldath and her worshippers up as examples of what they fight to protect. As gods, Tempus considers Eldath to be naive, but punishes any of his followers who would harm Eldath's faithful.

Groves

Not always obvious in any individual druid grove, Eldath has divine influence over these places, making them some of the most protected places in the realms from the violence and predation of the wider world. The fact that wild animals refrain from hunting and killing while within druid groves is thought to be Eldath's influence, and the fruits growing in many groves nourishes herbivore and carnivore alike.
Few druids worship Eldath specifically, as hunting and killing is as much part of the natural world as anything else. She offers her power in the establishment of a druid's grove, whether she is evoked or not, although the predatory actions of evil druids will often quickly erode any blessing she leaves on such a location. By meditating to Eldath in an established grove, a creature can gain the blessings of clean water, safe food and sanctuary from violence.
