Mysterium

The Myst, being semi-physical, can be manipulated with the correct spells and materials. It can be moved, it can be blocked and, perhaps most usefully, it can be compressed. Mysterium is the name given to Myst that has been compressed into a liquid. Interestingly, once so compressed the Mysterium will retain this state under normal conditions for several hours, slowly evaporating back into Myst. The apparatus for creating and storing Mysterium is expensive to make and complex, and the natural density of Myst is so low that it can take many days to form enough Mysterium to fill a thimble. As a result the cost of Mysterium is usually equivalent to gold of equal weight.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Glowing blue liquid with a viscosity and consistency like quicksilver.

Physical & Chemical Properties

It sheds light like a candle, although the light is blue. Mysterium that is unconstrained feels faintly cold as is evaporates.

Compounds

Mysterium can be dissolved in water, although it does not stop evaporating so a suitable container is needed to contain the mixture. Mysterium forms an alloy with iron- Mythril and is extremely stable when alloyed in such a way. In fact many of the containers for Mysterium are made of Mythril as it is one of the few materials that can contain it.

Life & Expiration

If not contained completely in a suitable container, Mysterium evaporates at a rate similar to water.
