Pickle Vine

An unusual variety of cumcumber vines native to the area around the Zhjani Desert. Under normal temperate conditions the berries it produces are almost normal cucumbers, albeit with a rather tangy aftertaste. However, if cultivated in a very hot or very dry environment the cucumbers start to naturally pickle on the vine as the plant extracts the water from the gourds. The pickles that are produced are naturally very high in sugar and only faintly acidic. People liken their flavour to that of pickles made in weak cider vinegar mixed with sugar.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The plant is a creeping vine that produces berries 10-20cm in length (after maturation in a low-humidity environment).
