Description

Abyssal chickens are small creatures. They have leather wings but are not capable of sustained flight. Their wings are folded above them, giving them a tear-shaped appearance. They have a large mouth filled with fangs and a long tongue. Abyssal chickens' primary form of locomotion is their two large legs, which end in feet resembling those of a regular chicken. Each foot has three large claws.

Combat

Abyssal chickens use their claws and fangs to defend themselves or attack prey. They are fast runners and use their wings to increase their speed.

Ecology

Native to the Abyss, abyssal chickens are also found on Avernus. They are spawned fully-grown in the Spawning Trees. The trees hold fleshy sacks on their branches, and when mature they fall to the ground, breaking open.

Uses

Abyssal chickens are hunted and used as a food item. Their flesh has a taste identical to that of a fatty chicken. They are sometimes used as familiars.

Abilities

Abyssal chickens are immune to poison. They are resistant to cold, fire and lightning. They have blindsight up to 30 feet, and while they understand Abyssal, they cannot speak.
