Kythorn 4: Investigate The Ruins

General Summary

Roderick, Verida, Wissum, Prime and Tana journeyed 7 miles to the south to find the ruins of an ancient temple, once dedicated to the Dragon Garyx (AKA Fire Lord). The entrance to the pyramid temple was locked, though the Roderick and Tana were able to open it by following the clues and setting a fire in the brazier. Verida opened the door using a torch from the magical fire. Upon entering the temple, the walls were covered in beautiful yet terrifying murals and a golden chalice gleamed in the center of the room. Verida found a hidden library with a map after stepping on a hidden pressure plate. The resident drunkard, Wissum, decided to drink from the chalice, which caused him to dance around the room, triggering loud chimes and 2 secret doors to open. In the chamber to the left, two frogmen were shackled to the wall. The party fell for their lies, freed them, and then were attacked. The skins of these frog people are poisonous and cause strange effects. After Verida and Roderick handled the two, three more came in through a hidden door. Wissum danced into the room while doing the limbo with his staff, battle commenced again. The three were taken down with relative ease, though a few members of the party were poisoned.
The next chamber held a dais upon which a frogman was performing a sacrifice of two bound humans, about to put them into a pit of lava. Therefore we attacked. Once we took care of the frogman, Verida, Roderick and Tana freed the humans. Meanwhile, Prime and Wissum pushed the corpse of the frogman into the pit of lava. The ground began to shake and lava to overflow. We ran as fast as we could towards the exit, the temple collapsing around us. Thankfully we made it out with the two humans in tow.
We discovered the humans came from a farming village, Paku Paku, about a day's walk west from this ruin. They grow sugar there and work with more of these frog people. As we turned to head home, we heard a low rumbling growl coming from the ruins.
