The Six Tree Conflict

Near Shadowbranch is the Cernonleaf Forest, home to numerous animals and druid circles. The forest was nearly destroyed during a conflict with two rival druid leaders - Enoch Stormbranch and Nod Hornblade.   The two druid leaders sought a rare artifact, the Ice King’s Horn. The Horn was said to freeze entire trees in seconds. Nod wanted to find the horn to protect the forest while Enoch sought it to gain power.   Nod first found the horn and hid it away from Enoch, who learned the truth and tried to barter for it. When Nod refused to sell the Horn, Enoch left, then returned with his followers, launching an assault on the forest and Nod’s companions.   The fighting initially lasted for four days with three deaths on each side. Enoch was obsessed with that horn and Nod offered to stop fighting.   Back in Shadobranch, Ash Falfaren, a former boxing champion, came to offer aid to stop the conflict. She helped develop a plan where Nod’s would challenge Enoch to single, unarmed combat. Training the druid in some of her fighting techniques, Ash also showed Nod’s men the tunnels in the forest to Teadrinker Manor.   Ash led Nod’s druids out of the forest and to safety. Two days after the escape, Ash returned to Nod to find the druid holding his rival in his arms. Both men had fought barehanded before restoring to using the horn. Six trees were destroyed and Nod, corrupted by the horn’s power, was once again going to use the artifact to continue his destruction until Ash fought him, easily defeating the already injured druid. Ash took the horn as Nod died holding an already deceased Enoch.   The former boxer spent all night burying both druids.   Druids visit the Cernonleaf Forest to pay their respects to Nod and Enoch. The Winter King’s Horn rests in Ash Falfaren’s trophy room.
