Calculator Bojan Mendoza

Mendoza comes from a common family - his mother died from an illness during his youth, and his father was ran a small bookstore, but in the evenings he ran an underground gambling parlor. Mendoza was tapped for mathematical aptitude while in his first few grades. He would study hard throughout his childhood and even get offered a partial scholarship from a prestigious Calculator college, with the rest of the cost being absorbed when he got hired as a calculator.
Shortly after his first posting was finished Mendoza learned that his father had been jailed by Maxdel authorities for the gambling parlor and was facing the rest of his life doing hard labor. This drove Mendoza to seeking any extra places to make money, settling on Calculator work on the Brig "Burden Of Proof"
While aboard the Burden it was attacked by Raye Jenet and Mendoza volunteered to join the pirate to recoup his paycheck with her group. He worked with Raye for almost 50 days before deciding that he could turn her over to Maxdel and collect on the bounty then pay off his father's fines to release him so he hatched a plan, first he'd train with the Ranet Swordsman Jin Song - this ended with him maimed and missing a finger and Jin banned from teaching calculators fighting, next he took crew shifts which while surprising was appreciated - during these shifts he sabotaged the elevator to the bridge. Then finally on 5330.339 when under attack from the Elk, Mendoza created a bad jump that would take them closer to a Maxdel military base. When he was called to the bridge to explain the bad jump Mendoza attempted knock Raye out and commandeer the Mistress, hoping that his sabotage to the elevator would allow him time enough to jump into the Maxdel Military's lap.
Mendoza's plan failed and he was maimed again - this time losing a hand when Raye delivered a powerful blow while attempting to disarm the calculator. Thus humiliated and wounded Mendoza was forced to work for another 80 days, having been stripped of his uniform and all camaraderie with the crew. Mendoza was dumped on the Crowborne side of the Border and eventually managed to hop back to Maxdel only to be arrested for deserting and associating with Pirates
